一维光子晶体偏振滤波器通道数的影响因素研究

摘  要:光子晶体偏振滤波器是利用光子晶体带隙特性来控制信号光偏振状态的一种新型滤波器,在光纤通信、光学传感测量、光电信息处理等领域均有重要应用。通道数多少是偏振滤波器设计的重要指标,通道越多,信息容量越大,越有利于系统的小型化和微型化。本文利用光学传输矩阵法研究了影响一维光子晶体偏振滤波器通道数目的因素,研究表明:(1)光子晶体缺陷层厚度是影响滤波器通道数目的关键因素,通道数N 与厚度D 近似满足线性关系,在500nm ~ 650nm 波段函数关系为N=0.0035D+0.159;(2)缺陷层折射率nc 的变化也会导致通道数改变,折射率越大,通道数越多。

Study on the Influencing Factors of Channel Number of
One-Dimensional Photonic Crystal Polarization Filter

Abstract:Photonic crystal polarization filter (PCPF) is a new type of filter which uses the bandgap characteristics of PCPF to control the polarization of signal light. It has important applications in optical communication,optical sensing measurement,photoelectric information processing and other fields. The number of channels is an important index for the design of polarization filters. The more channels,the larger the information capacity,and the more favorable for miniaturization of the system. In this paper,the factors affecting the number of channels of one-dimensional photonic crystal polarization filters are studied by using optical transfer matrix method. The results show that:(1) the thickness of defect layer is the key factor affecting the number of channels of photonic crystal polarization filters. The relationship between the number of channels N and the thickness D is approximately linear,and the functional relationship between 500nm ~ 650 nm band is N=0.0035D+0.159;(2) the change of the refractive index nc of defect layer will also lead to the change of the number of channels. The larger the refractive index is,the more the number of channels is.
